Best thing since the Evolution of Dance

One of my friends at work sent this little video to me and I'm pretty sure I've watched it at least 5 times already!

JT and Fallon

In other news, tonight will mark another game in Decepticons softball history.

Granted the team has changed up a bit, but the mission is still the same...Win our league (D-league mind you) and show up big for the playoffs.  I never played the game growing up, but dating and eventually marrying a baseball player will eventuallly get you into some variation of the game.  I played for my sorority in college and enjoyed spending time with friends from work.  So for the fall season, my Thursdsay nights are spent with that crew above.  Loving that it's my Friday, loving the weather, and loving the mighty DECEPTICONS!

Realization

Today I had somewhat of an epiphany while standing in the hardware aisle of a local Home Depot. How awesome is it that anything and everything a person could possibly want or need for their home restoration or improvement needs, is readily at their fingertips in one store. You might say, "Well Bryan, you're just now figuring this out?" And my answer to you is, no, but thanks for asking!

I went in there today to repair a bed that my wife and I are putting up in our guest bedroom, and were missing the original parts that that bed came with when it was purchased. I looked at a few of the other customers in there, some looking for plumbing supplies, some for painting options, and others for gardening tools. It just all came to me.....this place is awesome!! As someone who is not the handiest of handymen in the world, I look at a store like that as my permanent go to guy. If I run into a problem at my house that stumps me, all you have to do is bring the problem to one of their employees, and problem solved.

As a new husband, I will be the first one to admit that I have often tried to impress my wife with my knowledge of manly type things like home repair, and things like that. More and more as we live together I come to find that she sees right through me to my true colors. She knows that I probably don't know what I'm talking about, but still makes me feel like she trusts my decision on how to handle it. I find this to be true with my visits to a Home Depot type store as well. Those people may not have the first clue as to what I may need, or what type of problem I am having that needs fixing. But they have equipped themselves with the knowledge that is necessary to handle almost any situation. Do I trust their decision? Absolutely! Would I ever question their judgement on it? Never!

The same can be said when we equip ourselves with the Word of God. When we go above and beyond what is "good enough to get by" and really devote ourselves to spreading God's word to those who are lost in this world, then how could we ever be questioned? We will obviously never be perfect, but if we are always striving, always pushing, always willing to learn, then we are fulfilling God's promise to us. I once had a baseball coach tell me, "Never become satisfied." That quote still holds true, not just on the baseball field, but in our Christian walk as well. Never become satisfied with yourselves, because you never know when you will come face to face with that person who questions, or wants feedback about something that you are not prepared for. Goodnight all.

All-aboard!

Well Bryan and I have decided to jump on the bandwagon and put our take on marriage and life in Dallas on the world wide web.  We hope that you can enjoy this life that we have been given by our Lord alongside of us.  Bryan and I will update our blog as often as possible, life permitting :)

For starters, let me bring you up to speed...

Bryan and I got married on November 7, 2009 at Prestonwood Baptist Church in Plano.  It was a wonderful evening where we were surrounded by family and friends.  We couldn't of asked for anything more beautiful or memorable.

Since the wedding we went to Mexico for our Honeymoon, Boston to fulfill one of Bryan's lifelong dreams (seeing Fenway/RedSox), and to Florida for Chad's wedding.  Definitely lots of traveling, not to mention lots of family time and adjusting to sharing living quarters with another person.

We're so thankful and excited for this opportunity to share our lives with each of you.  Looking forward to the next time!
